Our village

The first written records of the municipality of Klidná Ves date back to the mid-14th century, when it formed part of a small agricultural estate situated along a trade route passing through the southern part of the region. Historical sources suggest that the area had been settled much earlier, most likely by farmers and craftsmen who benefited from the fertile landscape and nearby forests.

Over the centuries, the municipality changed ownership several times. During the Middle Ages, it belonged to local nobility, later becoming part of church-owned property, and after the Thirty Years’ War it was incorporated into a larger estate in the surrounding area. The local population traditionally focused on agriculture, fruit growing, and livestock farming. Local crafts and small trade also played an important role in the life of the community.

In the 19th century, the municipality experienced gradual development. A new school was built, local roads were expanded, and the first community associations supporting cultural and social life were established. Thanks to improvements in infrastructure and better connections with nearby towns, the municipality gradually grew and modernized.

Today, Klidná Ves is a modern and developing municipality that has preserved its traditional rural character. Local residents actively participate in community life, cultural events, and the development of public spaces. The municipality places strong emphasis on maintaining a high quality of life, caring for the surrounding landscape, and supporting community activities across generations.

During the second half of the 20th century, Klidná Ves underwent several administrative changes. During the period of municipal consolidation, it was temporarily merged with a larger neighboring municipality. However, after 1990, it regained its independent local administration and continued its long-standing traditions of community life.

Following the restoration of self-governance, the municipality began a gradual process of development and modernization of public infrastructure. Local roads, public spaces, and municipal buildings serving residents were renovated. Significant investments were also made in technical infrastructure and improvements to municipal properties, which today host cultural and social events for local residents.

Klidná Ves is situated within a picturesque landscape of meadows, fields, and small forest areas. The surrounding countryside creates a peaceful environment suitable for both everyday life and recreation. A small stream flows through the municipality, forming a natural part of the local landscape and contributing to its rural character.

Cultural and spiritual traditions also remain an important part of community life. The dominant feature of the village square is the local chapel, which serves not only for occasional religious services but also as a gathering place for residents during important holidays and community events. Local associations and active residents regularly organize cultural, sports, and community activities that strengthen neighborly relationships and preserve traditional rural life.
